Peter was born and raised in Malaysia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Theology degree from Trinity Theological College in Singapore in 1974 and served several Chinese churches in Malaysia before coming to the United States for further theological education in 1985. He received a Master of Divinity degree in 1987 and a Doctor of Ministry degree in 1992 from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and was recruited by the Pacific-Northwest Conference to plant a Chinese church in Bellevue, Washington. After 3 years there he was appointed by the California-Nevada Conference to serve as senior pastor of Chinese Community United Methodist Church in Oakland, California. After 17 years in Oakland, Pastor Peter has been appointed to New Vision UMC in July 2010. He and his wife, Jasmine, have one son, Wesley.

A longtime member of New Vision, Kriss joined the staff in March 2012.
Amelia Ma'afu, Director of Youth Ministries
Amelia joined the staff in January 2012 and has already begun some exciting new programs with our youth.
Nick Burdick, Director of Chancel Choir
Nick is a professional singer, trumpet player, and conductor. He received his BA from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. He has sung with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, American Bach Soloists, the Luther College Nordic Choir, and the Monteverdi Consort. As a trumpet player, Nich has played for the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Saratoga Symphony Orchestra, Mill Valley Philharmonic, and Musica Nova. His conducting credits include the Northern Arizona Youth Orchestra, NAU Wind Ensemble, NAU Collegiate Band and NAU Symphony Orchestra. He enjoys backpacking, traveling, and exploring the redwoods and beaches of the Bay Area with his girlfriend Lindsey and his dog Deuce. Under his leadership our Sanctuary Choir has already grown. Everyone is welcome to come to choir and experience the joy of singing.
Aidan Rontani, Administrative Assistant
Aidan grew up in the East Bay and in Napa County, but has roots on the Peninsula that go back at least four generations. He graduated with a BA in History from CSU Chico and still spends a great deal of time in Chico and the northern part of the state. After a few years of graduate study at Northeastern University in Boston he returned to California to pursue work in Christian ministry and church administration. He joined the staff at New Vision in April, 2010 after years of work in the Episcopal Church. His greatest loves are history and travel, but most of all engaging in the life of the church and all who come through our doors. Raul Fregozo, Custodian
